Hi Ivette - loved your blog on the former Domino. You always had a flair for words. I then saw a webisode of the Bonnie Hunt Show and you were fabulous on there. I just have to tell you that your doggies are so cute...they remind me of my son. I'll email a pick to you later and you will know what I mean.

Why live anywhere without dogs, even in the garden. I am in total agreement with you. I love your tiny pirate too!

I've always wondered about the cocoa hulls. Also people talk about coffee grounds in the garden - I'd think that would be disaster for dogs, no?
I'm still fighting the battle trying to keep my dogs from patrolling the fence. I have a big dog and a little one, so fence antics usually end in the little one getting clobbered by an overly excited brother. I've cut down some pieces of concrete reinforcing mesh into 2 ft tall moveable fences I can push into the ground wherever needed. It mostly works, unless there's something really interesting on the other side of the gate. However, none of the plants I've tried in the hot dog-patrol areas have ever survived, so they've created some unintentional plant-free zones where I've just given up. Yes, love the dogs, wouldn't want to be without them for a second.

Loree! I am so glad you like my little monsters as much as I do! And of COURSE you and I would talk about dogs on the same day - we are brain twins! XOXO!!!

Hi Jane! Welcome! You are a better dog mommy than me - I swear, if the bloomstalk of an oriental lily got smushed in my garden there would be hell to pay! But that's life with puppies in a garden - you win some, you lose some (big time!) Keep visiting! And thanks so much for your nice comment

You Dirty Girl! Thank you - they think they are the cat's meow, the bee's knees ... and they kind of are!

Have seen you post on other garden blogs and just checked your blog out. I love this blog on dogs in the garden. I'm a dog lover & gardener too. Your tips are right on target from my experience too. Must admit, I didn't plant the perimeter of the fence originally due to design, but as you point out, it's important for the dog to have that space. He loves the fact that he can trot/walk/run after the "evil squirrel" on the mulched paths next to the fence. I'm so into the dogs that I don't even care when one of them has broken off an oriental lily prior to blooming. hehe Glad to have found your blog: Dexter and Sadie are adorable! Frenchies are charmers.
